The number of Covid-19 patients in Pakistan is increasing with each passing day and after the new victims arriving today, the total number of confirmed cases in the country is 41,152 while the death toll is 895.

According to official figures, 1,423 new cases have been reported so far.

Although the spread of the deadly corona virus in Pakistan, which started in the Chinese city of Wuhan, started much later than in other countries in the region, the increasing number of cases on a daily basis is now a sign of worrying situation.

The first case in Pakistan was reported on February 26, 2020 in Karachi, while the first death from the virus was reported in the country on March 18.

With the arrival of the virus in the country, various levels of blockades and later partial lockdowns were imposed, which are now being phased out after being extended twice.

Although the spread of the virus and the number of deaths were lower in February and March, as the coronavirus testing capacity increased and more and more people began to be tested, the number of positive cases increased.

In the first 16 days of May alone, the cases were higher than in the previous two months, while the death toll was similar. As of April 30, more than 16,000 people had been affected by the first case in the country, while the death toll was 385.

However, from April 1 to 16, more than 23,000 cases were reported and 481 deaths were reported.

However, it should be noted here that one of the reasons for the increase in cases is the increase in testing and yesterday at a meeting of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) it was revealed that Pakistan has been on its own since the onset of the epidemic. The testing capacity increased 30-fold and it recorded a record 14,878 tests so far in one day.

In addition, new cases of corona epidemic were confirmed in the country today (May 17) while the number of recovering people also increased.
